Youth Rocks Concert
In 2016, to celebrate the end of Youth Week, Marlborough Youth Trust (MYT), together with Marlborough Community College and Marlborough Light and Sound, ran the first ever Youth Rocks concert. The idea came from a local student, a member of Himalaya (they have since changed their name to Havasnak) who approached MYT with his vision of performing for his peers. With the help of the Community College tutors (great music knowledge and a whole team of Hospitality students to cater for the event), and the use of music and light equipment from Marlborough Light and Sound (thanks to Marlborough Youth Council for the providing the funding to do this), Youth Rocks was born!
The bands took over the marketing, and on May 28th four local youth bands/performers took to the stage and gave an awesome display of talent in what was the first of more youth concerts to come. This was a fantastic learning experience for all involved, and we are aiming for our Youth Concerts to get bigger and better!
If you want to be involved in the next one contact MYT any time....either as a musician or behind the scenes, all are welcome.
